Miracle on 34th Street
Actors: Edmund Gwenn, Maureen O'Hara, John Payne, Gene Lockhard, Natalie Wood
Not Rated
A favorite to watch for Thanksgiving or for Christmas. Six year old Susan has doubts childhood's most enduring miracle Santa Clause. Her mother told her the "secret" about Santa a long time ago, so Susan doesn't expect to receive the most important gifts on her Christmas list. But after meeting a special department stare Santa who's convinced he's the real thing, Susan is given the most precious gift of all - something to believe in.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)
Actors: Todd Barbee, Robin Kohn, Stephen Shea, Hilary Momberger, Christopher DeFaria
Not Rated
A special Emmy Award-winning 30 minute cartoon of Charlie Brown and his friends in a sweet heartwarming Thanksgiving film.
An Old Fashioned Thanksgiving
Actors: Jacqueline Bissett, Helena Joy
Not Rated
A great Thanksgiving movie that reinforces the messages of being grateful for what we have, remembering those who have helped us along the way, helping those less fortunate than us, forgiving those who have wronged us, and being sorry and trying to make reparations for the wrongs we have done.
Winnie the Poo - Seasons of Giving
Actors: Gregg Berger, Brady Bluhm, Peter Cullen, Jim Cummings, Scott Dreier
Not Rated
Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Rabbit set out to search for the perfect ingredients for a festive Thanksgiving feast, and finally to Christmas, and a surprise visit from a special friend.
Dutch
Actors: Ethan Embry, Christopher McDonald, Ed O'Neill
PG:13
Dutch picks up his girlfriend's bratty son from prep school for a road trip back home for Thanksgiving. Needless to say, things go wrong in a National Lampoon style way when they lose their car, hitch a ride with hookers, and a night spent in a homeless shelter.
Home For the Holidays
Actors: Holly Hunter, Anne Bancroft, Robert Downey Jr., Charles Furning, Dylan McDermott
PG:13
A Chicago-based single mom who--on the day before Thanksgiving--loses her job and is informed by her daughter of the latter's intention to surrender her virginity while on a weekend-long affair. Jodie Foster directed this film about the typical dysfunctional family during the holiday season and she brings both a sensitive understanding and a full blown sense of humor to this holiday film.
The New World
Actors: Colin Farrell, O'orianka Kilcher, Christopher Plummer, Christian Bale, August Schellenberg
PG:13
A classic true tale of Pocahontas and her relationship with adventurer John Smith set during the turbulent beginnings of America. The film focuses on the clash of differences between two civilizations and how in the mess of differences two people are able to connect and see the beauty of each other. A poetic, dream like movie.
One Special Night
Actors: James Garner, Julie Andrews, Patricia Charbonneau, Stacy Grant, Stewart Bick
PG
Two strangers take refuge in a small cabin during a stormy winter night and despite their differences they are undeniably drawn to one another in this holiday classic.
Pieces of April
Actors: Katie Holmes, Oliver Platt, Patricia Clarkson, Derek Luke, Alison Pill
PG:13
Katie Holmes is April, the quirky black sheep of her family who has offered to host the suburban clan's thanksgiving dinner in her grubby Lower East Side apartment. April discovers that her oven doesn't work and begs help from the other tenants in the building for help to pull of the perfect meal for a perfect family reunion. This is not your normal Norman Rockwell's American family gathered around the perfect Thanksgiving dinner.
The House of Yes
Actors: Parker Posey, Josh Hamilton, Tori Spelling, Freddie Prinze Jr., Genevieve Bujold
R
Marty brings his fiancee home to meet his not-so-normal family. His sister become dangerously jealous, his younger brother put the moves on his fiancee, his mother is hiding the kitchen knives. Assassinations, mental instability, jealousy, incest and denial. You'll need to watch this one after the kids have gone to bed.
