If your sleep problem is annoying, but not chronic or life threatening, you might try the following:

Before going to bed tonight, take a look around your bedroom while the light is turned off. How many sources of light do you see? Is your clock digital? Does your clock glow all night long. How about your bedroom TV, your radio, and your phone? Can you see a light source coming from them? Does light come into your bedroom windows from the street lights, or your neighbors porch lights?

Take a few moments to sit quietly in your bedroom. Do you hear traffic noise? Does your refrigerator clank loudly when dumping ice cubes into the container? Do you hear barking dogs or other noises coming from outside your home?

To ensure a good nights sleep your bedroom should be as dark and as quiet as possible.

Get rid of all the glowing items by plugging your TV, radio, etc. into a power switch and turning everything off at night. If you just can't get rid of the lovely glowing digital clock, face the clock away from the bed so you don't see the glow. Use bedroom window coverings that block out the street lights, etc. Use white noise to cover most of the annoying house noises at night. If you have problems with barking dogs, then consider using ear plugs.

Simple changes such as these could provide you with restful sleep at night, but if your sleep problem continues, then browse the links below to find out more about your sleep problem and what you should do about it.
