I Hate Being Yelled AtI hate being yelled at. I'm sure everyone hates being yelled at, right? If I were about to step out in front of a speeding car and a stranger yelled at me, thereby saving my life, then that would be an acceptable yell, right?
Some yells are definitely worse than other yells, don't you agree?Pumpkin, my sweet orange cat, has a cat door and he can go in and out at any time of the day or night. But, Pumpkin has started standing by the patio door when I'm working in the kitchen or living room and waiting until I get near the door, then he softly meows and I open the people door for him. He will also sit outside the patio door and wait to see if I'm in the area and will open the people door for him.
Yesterday, I was in the computer room totally focused on tracking down some problem computer code on one of my pages. I was vaguely aware that Pumpkin had meowed a few times from the kitchen area, but I ignored him.
I had just spotted the troublesome computer code when directly behind my chair I heard loud, forceful, urgent, demanding, and ear-piercing MEOW.
I threw the mouse in the air, leaped out of the chair, and spun around. There was Pumpkin giving me an evil glare as if to say, "About time you paid attention to me!" He turned, stuck his tail straight up in the air and with his "follow me" attitude, marched to the patio door, sat, and waited for the human door opener to do her job.
I really, really do hate to be yelled at, especially by a bossy cat.
